Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine is accepting applications for a full time veterinary technician who is passionate about veterinary behavior. This position is based at the Central Hospital, a multi-specialty referral hospital located in North Haven, CT. Our behavior technicians work for the Behavior Service, which is led by Dr. Ellen M. Lindell, a board certified veterinary behaviorist. Duties include: •Assisting the doctors during behavior consultations •Helping clients apply behavior modification techniques •Educating veterinary health care teams •Enhancing our behavioral well-care program •Creating written material including letters and handouts Skills required: •Excellent oral and written communication skills •Ability to assist doctors during a physical examination •Understanding of behavior modification theory and applications •Basic computer skills •Ability to work independently and solve problems creatively •Ability to organize •Attention to detail and accuracy Preference will be given to applicants with clinical experience in applied animal behavior and to licensed veterinary technicians.
