The Connecticut Humane Society's Fox Memorial Clinic, is looking for a full-time, clinic veterinarian who wants to work for mission driven clinic. Fox Memorial is an active, non-profit veterinary clinic that provides medical services to average and lower income clientele. This position would be responsible for practicing compassionate medicine as well as working cohesively with the other veterinarians to manage cases. This position will also be responsible for performing soft tissue surgeries including but not limited to tumor removal, exploratory cystotomy, cherry eye removal and or repair, amputations and spay neuter, as well as providing wellness and diagnostic care.
This full-time position with benefits is ideal for someone with at least three years working in a clinic setting and has a demonstrated record as a surgeon. A current license to practice is required. This candidate must also possess strong verbal and written communication skills. We are looking for a client oriented individual who can work well with the public and the other veterinarians. Education: DVM. Current license to practice in the US, will help obtain state licensure if needed.
Experience: 3-5 years working in a clinic or shelter setting as a veterinarian.
Skills: Ability to perform soft tissue and spay/neuter surgery. Ability to perform physically strenuous activities which will require lifting of moderate to heavy weights (up to 40 lbs.),standing and/or bending, pushing brooms and/or mops, and walking and/or controlling dogs and/or cats, use of cleaning solutions and sitting at a desk for long periods of time.
Technology: Proficiency in computers and on-line medical records
