Shakespeare Veterinary Hospital, a well-established, dynamic, small animal and exotics practice in coastal Fairfield County seeks a full-time or part-time Veterinary Technician to join our team.
A minimum of one (1) year experience is required; credentialing (certification) is preferred.
The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills; is focused, responsible, work-oriented, self-motivated, punctual, professional, team-oriented, interested in broadening their skill and knowledge base through continuing education, and appreciates the bond between human beings and their pets.
All applicants should possess adequate computer skills and be well-versed in veterinary practice management software workflows. Applicants should also be capable of performing typical duties of a Veterinary Technician including, but not limited to, animal handling and restraint; assisting doctors in appointments, surgery, and throughout various stages of patient cases; IV catheter placement, venipuncture, diagnostic testing, obtaining radiographs; patient and anesthetic monitoring; patient care, and client education. Additionally, the ideal candidate is willing to look outside their job description and support fellow staff when the need arises.
