We are a busy small animal hospital in South Austin looking for a flexible, skilled veterinary technician with a strong interest in anesthesia, surgery and dentistry to join our diverse and fun-loving team! The candidate we are looking for should be experienced with monitoring anesthesia, have knowledge of drug calculations, be detail oriented, able to multi-task, possess good communication skills and be able to understand and follow directions. Above all, we value individuals who are honest, respectful and trustworthy.
We have Cardell monitoring machines, Doppler blood pressure measurement, iM3 Dental Unit with suction, digital radiography, in house blood machines, in house ultrasound used for FAST scans and centesis as well as mobile board certified radiologists who come regularly for comprehensive ultrasonography. We practice using low stress handling and restraint techniques and have one doctor who is certified FEAR FREE. We offer scrub allowance, CE allowance, CVA training and cover the cost for the CVA testing, PTO, and a insurance reimbursement if your insurance qualifies. Primary responsibilities will include:
Obtaining patient vitals Placing IV catheters Performing blood draws Setting up equipment and instrumentation for anesthesia and surgery Monitoring anesthesia (TPR, SpO2, etCO2, BP, and ECG) Caring for hospitalized patients Preparing and administering medications and treatments Performing in house lab procedures and preparing samples to be sent to outside labs Performing digital dental and general radiography Entering charges for procedures and treatments performed Logging controlled drugs accurately
Additional Salary Information: Candidates with LVT status are greatly desired. Salary will be commensurate on experience and licensing.
