Mixed Animal Veterinary Externship
Alpine Equine Hospital PC
A shared 1-4 week externship program between Alpine Equine and Alpine Animal Hopsital. 4 Staff Veterinarians, 1 Intern, 2 Office Staff, 5 techs, 2 vet tech assistants between practices; 1 FTE LA DVM, 3 FTE SA DVM w/o intern Type of Practice: 40% equine (60 % ambulatory/40% in-house), 60% companion animal Facilities: Clinical facility 10,400 square feet with separate ruminant and equine isolation facilities. A Medical/Repro/Surgery facility with 4 heated stalls and lameness/treatment areas. The practice is equipped for digital radiology, ultrasonography, focused shock wave, and endoscopy. Surgery suite is available, routine and elective procedures (hernias, crypts, enucleations, splint removal, nervings.) as well as emergency abdominal and other surgeries. THIS MIXED ANIMAL program IS GEARED MORE TOWARDS LEARNING and is split between two businesses (Alpine Equine and Alpine Animal Hospital. Areas of training include: Dentistry, Radiology, Reproduction, Practice Management, Client Education, Fluid Therapy, Laboratory, Pediatrics. General Medicine, Horse Show Medicine, Ultrasonography, Thermography, Endoscopy, Surgery, Ophthalmology, Technical Skills, Lameness, Complementary Therapies.
