As we continue to grow, we are looking to add Financial Coordinators to our specialty departments that include Internal Medicine, Neurology and Surgery.
Under direct supervision from the ER/Specialty Financial Manager, the Specialty Financial Coordinator will be responsible for reviewing clinical charges from veterinarians from within the internal med/neurology/ surgerydepartment daily. They will assist clients with billing questions and provide feedback to doctors and staff, while ensuring charges for all services are appropriately captured in a timely manner. Processing payment plans, discussing Waggle crowd funding campaigns and reviewing open/un-posted invoices are also essential job duties.
The Financial Coordinator will work heavily with both our medical team and our accounting team, therefore excellent communication is key. Familiarity with Office, Outlook and an ability to learn and confidently use different types of software is essential.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Charge capture for all inpatients within the (internal med/neuro/surgery) department. Compare and audit invoices to ensure there are no missed/duplicate charges.
Ensuring that all inpatients have approved estimates and that the low end of the estimate has been collected. If no estimate and/or deposit, will need to follow up with appropriate doctor(s).
Alerting doctors to invoices that are approaching or have gone over estimate- collect additional deposit for continued care as needed.
Discussing and setting up Payment Plans/Waggle campaigns as approved by management.
Answering general client questions pertaining to invoice and posted payments.
Assisting clinical team with green checking invoices prior to patient discharge once all charges have been audited.
Reviewing department outpatient appointments to ensure payment has been taken for all diagnostics/medications.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Customer service skills: Ability to provide friendly, efficient service to both clients and other staff members. Considerable tact and diplomacy is required especially during high stress/emotional situations.
Interpersonal skills: Ability to feel comfortable dealing with clients, staff, and others.
Reliability: Regular attendance and timeliness are essential functions in order to fulfill the requirements of this position.
Pay: $15-$18/hour depending on experience

Minimum one (1) year hospital, physician office, or veterinary office experience, with experience in veterinary billing, medical coding, or other billing experience strongly preferred
Electronic records experience preferred
