Shelter medicine is high-paced, exciting and rewarding work. As the Veterinary Services Supervisor and a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) at Seattle Humane, you keep the whole clinic running smoothly, from surgery, to patient care, to community medicine. As a supervisor, you are part LVT, who utilizes their full range of skills to practice high quality medicine and part trainer, helping the team hone their talents. All this, and you get to perform life saving work in a state of the art veterinary facility.
At the end of day on your feet, you get to go home feeling satisfied by impacting the lives of animals and making a difference in your community. You can expect to do this work on a pet focused team that cares for each other, embraces silliness, and believes in working together to meet the mission.
Is this you?
- You are a LVT in the state of Washington or can transfer your license from another state.
- You have performed the work of an LVT for at least three years.
- In previous positions, you’ve supervised as an LVT in a shelter or busy clinic and have trained staff, volunteers, or students.
- Co-workers describe you as flexible, kind, and someone who is compassionate towards pets and their people. You recognize the value of having fun at work.
- You are an aspiring leader interested in training a variety of roles, and developing training curriculum, together with a leadership team.

Compensation/Schedule
Salary starts at $32-34 hourly. As well, we currently offer a $2500 sign on and a $2500 retention bonus totaling $5000 offered for qualified candidates!
Full-time position. Scheduled for 40 hours per week, generally scheduled over four ten-hour shifts. Working at least one regular weekend day should be expected. The Shelter and Veterinary Clinic function 7 days per weekincludingholidays; schedule may vary depending on coverage needs, holidays or emergencies.
